What is the best type of appraisal for organizations where work is organized around tasks or projects that take a short time to complete after which a new assignment is given? Please sent your comments...

The outcome of any appraisal should be an agreed action plan to develop the appraisee. This action plan can highlight tasks and projects that the appraisee can be part of and which skills (s)he has to offer to each.
As new projects come on board there can be a discussion about skills needed and what new skills will be developed.
After the project an appraisal can be held to act as a debrief, looking at the activity from a development point of view, to discuss what skills have been gained, and what skills still need to be improved more.
The action plan therefore in this scenario is a live working activity continuously being reviewed and updated.
