How do I motivate my staff apart from giving a good perks and good working conditions?

1. Give them personal motivation like a pat on the back, few words of praises, etc. Make them feel an integral part of the organization.
2. Give them more authority and responsibility.

Provide them a common enemy to fight, and all shall stand united & focused.
