Limitations to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs
Dino, Student (University), United Kingdom

One of the limitations to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is that it does not take into account the unsatisfied needs.
In addition, what about the must-haves; that, in my opinion, are prior to needs?

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs does take into account unsatisfied needs. Unsatisfied needs always restrict the way to need gratification. Restrictions in need gratification of an individual leads to fixation problems and hence behavior disorders.
Nirvana / self actualization is possible only for individuals who are capable to overcome such weaknesses of body and mind.

CONs of Maslow's Hierarchy
Ajit Beri, Management Consultant, India
The spectrum of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs is dwarfed by the pace of expansion of human activities, vivid occupation choices. The emerging needs of humans are too complex to be gauged only by the original theory.
Maslow's excellence appears to be giving us a route plan through raw fields when there were no roads, but now we need to give rest to his sacred soul. We need to accurately place the groups of people as per their choices of professions and the desired life objectives to apply the hierarchy of their needs. We may not justify our actions if we think of uniformly apply Maslow's study in the present context.
