The Power of Information
Augustus Chuks Valentine, Analyst, Nigeria

Over time, I have come to realise that the more informed you are, the more powerful and relevant you are most likely to be.
In my years of experience both in the oil and gas industry and financial institutions, working directly with executives as secretary and personal assistant, I have come to realise how very essential information management can be and can help in influencing the boss, which, in turn, influences other employees; as well as helping in the achievement of the goal(s) of an organisation.
Your boss barely has time to do most jobs as a result of his extremely busy schedule, all that he has and banks on is you, your expertise, your ability to provide him with whatever information he needs to work on, he wants to sit back and attend to more serious issues and expect you to get information about rival firms, products, trainings and seminars that would be of benefit to him to attend at home and abroad, as well as comfortable hotel accommodation for him to stay during the course of the training/seminar/conference.
Your management of the information of the firm in particular and the industry in general also helps him to diagnose the past and analyse the future, hence know how to deal with situations at work, as well as the staff.
