What Type of Entrepreneur are You?
Javier Elenes, Business Consultant, Mexico

What type of entrepreneur are you: an entrepreOWNER or an entrepreSLAVE of your business?
You probably started your business to have more freedom, however now you work long hours.
Start answering these 3 key questions:
  1. Are you an EntrepreOWNER or an EntrepreSLAVE?
  2. Do you "need" to work from sunrise to sundown to run your business?
  3. Why? Because you donīt want to delegate or because your donīt have a strong management team (Heads of Sales, Operation and Administration)?
Now make an honest decision, either keep working 12+ hours a day because you love to do so, or develop a strong management team to run sales, operation and administration in order to release the time needed to run the business and in order to enjoy your life dreams or explore new horizons.

My Stand on This
Okuu Kalu Okwuagwu, Lecturer, Nigeria
Studies have shown that successful entrepreneurs work for a minimum of 12 hours per day and at least six days in a week. To me, it begins with the business cycle (Ed: growth phases). At the introductory and growth stages of a new firm, a lot of time and presence of the owner is highly needed. Then, if it matures, he/she can consider delegation as an option.
