If you believe in Jung's construct, then there is no need to worry (ask Alfred E. Neuman); unless, there exists a cultural business requirement to fit a square peg in a round hole. Of course we know that business (national and international) has evolved sufficiently to understand that that concept does not work.
If your hair stands on end when considering to implement cross cultural support systems based on the Jungian precept, then maybe you can consider opening the communication practices within each entity pre-merger, between and among all factions of the work force first. If you can get through that culture shock, then maybe you can have a go at a successful international merger.
