Technical Due Diligence

Once I understood that an engineer was performing a Due Diligence, I know that normally it is financial issue but in this case it was purely technical as if he was making a test drive!

Thanks for your comment. Indeed it is also possible to perform a due diligence on technical aspects.
For example in case of an intended acquisition of a young, innovative company, the potential buyer might want to investigate certain technical aspects of a key new product which could be critical to properly assess the chances of success of that product in the market.
Of course, in case these technical aspects turn out to be positive, this will increase the price the buyer is willing to pay to the seller.
We could consider technical due diligence as a separate category of due diligence, or as one form of business due diligence as mentioned in our summary.
