Approaches to Quality Management in Higher Education
Rashid Rehman, Professor, Pakistan
As for as the approaches to improve the services in higher education are concerned, we can have many to adopt.
Training and Development of the Faculty/Teaching Staff to adopt and use new Class Room Technologies.
University-Industry Linkages should be one of the priorities of Higher Education Institutions. Students visits to Industrial Concerns is a must as they will learn from it.
There is no doubt that Text Books are very helpful to improve the process of services in higher education, but we need students to focus on research journals and materials from websites, as there are hundreds of thousands of teaching materials available for free.
The libraries should be updated and be equipped with latest technologies. It will be very difficult to introduce quality improvements in services of higher education institutions unless the libraries are connected to the latest ICTs.
