Steps After Identifying the Critical Path in Project Management
Syed Arifulla MBA, PMP, Prince2, Project Manager, United Kingdom

After identification of the critical path, typically the following activities are carried out by the project manager/team:
  1. Drawing a network diagram of all activities and dependencies to achieve a big picture of the entire project.
  2. Calculation of the float (slack) for each activity.
  3. Maintaining a risk register with risk response strategies for activities on the critical path.
  4. Creation of the high level project schedule with milestones and critical areas of interest.
