Case Method Without Teams

I am a part-time professor in a small private university in Mexico City, teaching Business Courses to Junior and Senior students in the English language.
I have used cases in several textbooks (International Business, Hill mainly), for Midterm and Final Exams in teaching in a remote fashion. Since groups are very small (one or two students), I have assigned cases individually. The student has to understand the case, research it and answers the questions on the textbook, plus reflect on the application of it to the Mexican scene, and prepare a summary in powerpoint, which they present using Skype.
Besides missing the team discussion (which I use for larger in classroom settings), I am not entirely satisfied with the learning of my students.
